PolishChildren’s Charity Drive in Events across Ireland

Sundaynight, 11.01.2015 Poles and Irish gathered in Dublin to raise funds for the ‘GrandOrchestra of Christmas Charity’ (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy or WOŚP inPolish). The event at the Living Room on Cathal Brugha Street and Swords GAAClub were run in sync with huge events run in every city in Poland - markingthe charity’s 23rd annual ‘Grand Final’. As of Monday afternoon, 36.3m złoty(€8.4m) has been raised in total this weekend.

Everyyear since 1993, on the second Sunday of January, thousands of Poles around theworld collect donations for the WOŚP organisation, which raises vital funds forchildren’s heart surgery, to help children who are victims of accidents, savechildren with kidney problems and birth defects, and to provide moderndiagnostic tools and treatments in neonatology and paediatrics.
